Feature Plant
Strobilanthes dyerianus
This relatively uncommon shrub - otherwise known as Persian Shield - is cultivated for its attractive, iridescent purplish-green foliage that is embroidered with prominent veins. The plant grows well under partial to full sunlight, and can be used to create colour, contrast and drama in the garden. Pinch the shoot tips for a more compact plant form, and to prevent it from becoming too leggy with age.
